The Mercedes-Benz W201 was never given a factory cupholder — this fixes that, without touching the original interior. Press the front panel and the mechanism smoothly slides out; press again and it disappears. Complete ready-to-install kit: 3D-printed PETG housing plus an OEM VAG-group soft-close mechanism included.

Soft-slide mechanism
The same press-to-open, press-to-close mechanism used in VW, Audi and Skoda interiors. Smooth action, no rattles, secure hold.
Hidden when closed
Installs into the center dashboard air vent opening. When closed, the interior looks completely stock — no permanent visual changes to the cabin.
No modifications needed
The original center vent grille and internal airflow flap are removed, but nothing is drilled or permanently altered. Fully reversible.
The PETG housing slots directly into the center dashboard air vent opening in place of the original grille. The OEM VAG-group soft-close mechanism mounts inside the housing. Press the front panel and the cupholder glides out — press again and it retracts flush with the dashboard. When closed, the interior looks completely factory. The internal airflow flap inside the vent must be removed for fitment, but no drilling or permanent modifications are required.

Do I need to buy the VAG mechanism separately?
No. The OEM VAG-group soft-close cupholder mechanism is included in the kit. Everything you need arrives in one package.
Does installation require drilling or permanent changes?
No drilling required. You remove the original center vent grille and the internal airflow flap inside the vent housing, then the kit slots in. The modification is fully reversible.
Will it fit all W201 variants?
Yes. The center dashboard vent opening is the same across all Mercedes-Benz 190E and 190D W201 models produced between 1982 and 1993.
Is this an original Mercedes-Benz part?
No. This is a 3D-printed aftermarket upgrade. The housing is printed in PETG; the mechanism is an OEM part sourced from the VAG group (VW / Audi / Skoda).
